¿Qué correcciones podemos hacer?

Para empezar, la ortografía es lo que más debemos mirar, por muy bien que sepas escribir, TODOS cometemos algún error y hay que corregirlo. Al escribir, solemos hacerlo en periodos de inspiración y para aprovecharla no reparamos en los fallos que podemos estar cometiendo, por lo que en general solemos tener algunos por pequeños que sean. Releer el texto con ojo crítico y a la caza de estos pequeños errores nos ayudará a perfeccionar nuestra novela.

La estructura también es muy importante, debemos fijarnos en cada párrafo y capítulo, ya que tal vez podemos cambiarlos de lugar para darle mayor sentido a nuestra historia. Es frecuente que cada capítulo nos parezca genial por separado, pero a lo mejor la estructura de la novela no es la más adecuado y debamos establecer un cambio o una nueva estructura. ¿Funciona la historia? ¿Hay coherencia en la trama?

Por último, pero no menos importante, encontramos el estilo. Debemos ser sinceros con nosotros mismos y darnos cuenta si la novela tiene un mismo estilo de principio a fin. Hay que tomar en cuenta que escribir toma tiempo, y es posible comenzar adoptando un tono y terminar con otro. Es precisamente uno de los aspectos que se evalúan y corrigen al momento de tomar en cuenta el estilo.

¿Cuánto tiempo debo invertir?

Escribir es un proceso largo, y la corrección también. Es una forma de evaluar tu trabajo, de pulir esas partes que necesitan mejoras, de cortar o eliminar lo que sobra o aburre. Es una labor necesaria si queremos un manuscrito decente.

Reescribir puede ser para algunos la parte tediosa de crear, siempre se piensa que es mejor responder a los instintos creativos, pero estos no siempre nos guían a que nuestro manuscrito sea una pieza invaluable.

Como claves, en este punto podemos destacar las siguientes:

1- Darle un tiempo de reposo a la novela, que podamos descansar de ella y nos cueste menos eliminar y cambiar cosas. De esta manera conseguiremos otra opinión distinta sobre nuestro manuscrito.

2- Debemos leerlo sin modificar nada una primera vez, que veamos como suena nuestra historia de principio a fin. Debemos evaluar cada trama y conflicto para ver si encajan bien. En este momento apuntaremos todo lo que veamos que no es correcto.

3- Empezamos a reescribir todos aquellos aspectos que tengamos apuntados para dar más cohesión a nuestro manuscrito y mejorarlo todo lo posible.

4- Ahora llega la segunda lectura, esta es mucho más dura, ya que aquí deberemos fijarnos en dos cosas principalmente. Las partes que aburren y el argumento. Es difícil valorarlo porque es algo nuestro, pero debemos hacerlo.

5- En la segunda escritura, ya debemos pulir aquellos aspectos que nos quedaban, darle más fuerza a las partes que cojean y lo tendremos casi listo.

6- Ahora que ya crees que lo tienes todo listo, llega el momento de los Beta-testers, los lectores que puedan leer tu novela y darte una opinión sincera y crítica sin llegar a hacerte daño. Si ellos detectan errores, apúntalos e intenta corregirlos.

Ya para acabar, recuerda que nunca serás objetivo al 100% porque al final es tu criatura, tú lo has creado y te dará lástima quitar algunas partes. Por ello, lo mejor es recurrir a un profesional, alguien que pueda corregirlo desde otro punto de vista y que sea filólogo para asegurarnos de que cada palabra es la correcta.

Parece muy complicado llegar al final y conseguir cerrar el círculo, que todos los elementos que has ido enumerando a lo largo de la novela encajen en un puzzle perfecto, pero siempre es posible. Sobretodo cuando eres novel, cuesta acabar con la novela, con ese pequeño hijo que has concebido extrayéndolo de tu propia mente y que ahora, más que nunca, necesita que acabes con él. Por mucho que tu pienses que todavía le quedan 200 páginas más, no lo hagas agonizar.

Ya sé que te encanta enriquecer la historia con cada detalle, pero si no aportan nada importante, lo mejor es quitarlos de en medio, no le des más vueltas.

1- Debemos encontrar el momento preciso para escribir las últimas páginas y así daremos con la clave. Hay que mantener la llama de la lectura viva en nuestro lector. Por lo tanto, debes empezarlo justo cuando el lector sigue en tensión, ahí es el momento de empezar a asestar las últimas estocadas y terminar de encajar las piezas.

2- Antes de escribir el final, debes hacerte una pregunta, ¿Dónde está el conflicto (nudo) de mi trama?. Ahora que ya lo tienes en la mente, solo puedes hacer una cosa, imaginar cómo termina todo. Por lo menos hazte una idea. A partir de ahí, empieza a escribir en cualquier sitio todas las posibilidades que veas. Deja descansar este listado durante un tiempo y luego vuelve a leerlo. Algún que otro final te parecerá absurdo y surrealista. Otro inviable porque mientras tanto ha aparecido otro personaje en tu cabeza. Otros serán discretos y algunos realmente buenos. Juega con ellos, crúzalos, córtalos, ajusta el tiro hasta llegar a un final excelente. Porque lo tienes y lo sabes, sólo necesitas visualizarlo.

3- Para acabar, lo más importante, tu final no puede estar sin motivo. No engañes al lector con sorpresas o magia, no ha llegado hasta aquí por eso. O muertos que vuelven a la vida, nadie se creerá que un personaje que ha muerto ahora está vivo de nuevo. Haz que el lector disfrute de tu final, pero que al mismo tiempo lea a una velocidad increíble porque quiere saber qué va a pasar. Porque, si tu lector ha aguantado hasta aquí, es que se merece un gran final.

1- Optimiza los títulos

Es muy complicado cuando se utilizan títulos pocos útiles tanto para SEO como para el usuario, necesitamos algo claro y que la gente pueda buscar con facilidad en Google.

Lo importante al escribir tu título es saber sobre qué vas a escribir, tener claras las palabras claves de tu artículo para hacerlo más sencillo e intuitivo. Debemos tener algunas cosas en cuenta:

1.       ¿Cuál es el tema de tu artículo?: Úsalo en el título.

2.       Si trata de resolver una pregunta tu artículo, trata de añadirlo al título: “Cómo mejorar…”, “Consejos para…”, “Cómo se hace…”, etc.

3.       Si escribes un título con más de 70 caracteres estás haciéndolo mal de cara al SEO. Google tan solo coge los 70 primeros en sus búsquedas.

4.       Incluye la palabra clave de tu post cuanto más a la izquierda mejor, sin que pierda sentido el título.

2- Optimiza las URL

Lo más probable es que estés utilizando Blogger o Wordpress, por lo que si usas sus URL’s por defecto, estás haciéndolo mal.

Se debe a que utilizan o bien el nombre del post, o bien la fecha de creación por lo que dificultamos la búsqueda de cara a las personas que necesiten un artículo como el nuestro y será complicado aparecer en las primeras páginas.

Conseguiremos mejorar los títulos de la siguiente forma:

1.       No dejar la URL por defecto, podemos editarla sin problemas.

2.       Eliminaremos palabras sin relevancia, como artículos o preposiciones.

3.       Usa guiones (-) en lugar de barras bajas (_)

4.       No debemos usar caracteres extraños como ñ(Eñe), ú(Acento)…

5.       Debemos incluir la palabra clave en la URL

6.       El secreto es conseguir la URL más corta posible sin quitarle el sentido.

3- Enlaces del propio Blog

Algo que es importante y suele obviarse, es añadir enlaces a artículos anteriores relacionados con éste, como por ejemplo cuando hablamos del Menú Desplegable (Ya te he colado un enlace). De este modo le facilitas más información al lector sobre el tema que necesita.

4. Optimizar las imágenes

Como bien sabemos, las imágenes son algo esencial en un artículo, aunque algunas veces no se utilices, son muy recomendables.

Muchas veces si no conoces lo que buscas puedes intentar encontrarlo en imágenes. Por lo que con los siguientes pasos mejoraremos el SEO con las imágenes:

1.       Usa nombres concisos pero descriptivos.

2.        Añade la etiqueta “alt” en todas la imágenes, Google no puede “leer” la imágenes por lo que identifica la imagen por el texto que la rodea o por la etiqueta “alt”

3.       Como siempre, no abuses de las palabras claves, utiliza sólo las necesarias.

4.       Optimiza el tamaño y el peso de la imágenes, muchas veces se suben imágenes con exceso de información que en realidad no sirve de nada.

5- Sé regular con tus publicaciones

Si nos fijamos, Google ha optimizado su algoritmo dando preferencia a los enlaces más nuevos, por encima de los antiguos, entendiendo que para el usuario es más útil.

Hagas lo que hagas NUNCA le cambies la imagen y el título a un artículo y lo vuelvas a publicar, Google se da cuenta enseguida y te penalizará.

Como curiosidad o consejo, lo importante no es solo lo anterior, obviamente necesitamos crear un contenido de calidad para que el lector se sienta a gusto y te visite con frecuencia.
